This Dissertation Examines Sustainable Refurbishment in Private Housing. This dissertation aims to look at government initiatives which address the issue of sustainable refurbishment in the UK private housing sector. It also aims to investigate the current understanding and perceptions of architects towards sustainable refurbishment and associated government initiatives. Due to sustainability being topical within industry presently, and the government trying to reduce CO2 emissions, the success of sustainable initiatives may prove vital in reaching an 80% reduction by 2050. Sustainable refurbishment initiatives are likely to play a significant role in this, therefore any potential issues should be identified in order to be remedied and encourage success.
